About Us
Do you offer left handed versions or seven stringers?

We are currently not offering any left handed versions of our RS Classic, although we are working on offering those in the near future. Seven string guitars are not available. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Why don't you take credit cards?

Do to an increase in credit card fraud involving both USA and overseas transactions (non USA Territories), and the difficulty of verifying international credit card data, RS Guitars will require payment via cashiers check/international money order drawn in US Dollars prior to beginning construction. Personal checks on USA orders will be accepted. We can also accept direct wire transfers, however, any transfer fees will be the responsibility of the purchaser. These payment arrangements are necessary as an increasing number of charge orders come up as Charge Backs in the e-commerce industry. Either where the card is stolen etc., or more often when a person receives the merchandise and then dispute that they ever got it (even with carrier proof) and demand their money back with the card issuing bank, thus keeping the product for free. In these kinds of cases, the banks usually sides with the customer, and the merchant has to suffer the loss. We apologize for any inconvenience, however, the current rate of fraudulent credit card purchases on the Internet dictates this preventative measure. Customers who submit orders paying by check or wire transfer will be provided with all the necessary information once their order has been received.

Are these Official Signature Models?

The RS Classic is not an official signature model, and is not currently endorsed by Queen, Brian May, or any of their affiliates. These are, however, high quality, custom built guitars inspired by the world famous "Red Special", and are built to authentic specifications. We believe that you will find RS Guitars to be impeccably crafted, and both a pleasure to own and play.

What is your build time?

Due to increased demand and the unconventional nature of our guitars, the estimated build time for the RS Classic is about 8-10 weeks from the time an order is received. This estimate could vary slightly based on wood or material availability and production load, but should be fairly accurate. Remember these are custom built guitars, so our build times are used as an approximation and can vary somewhat from guitar to guitar. Our top priority is turning out a great instrument, so please keep that in mind when it comes to build time estimates. Also remember that once a deposit for construction has been paid, it is NON-REFUNDABLE...so please be sure that you want the guitar before placing your order.

Is the RS Classic an exact replica?

The RS Classic is not an exact replica of the "Red Special", however, it is very close in both specifications and design. It includes all the major features and design points of the original. The use of a zero fret nut and a straight roller bridge creates an almost friction free system, that is both very playable and stays in tune. We currently offer authentic knurled custom replica volume and tone knobs, and are producing our own authentic style "knife edge" tremolo system which is used on the production RS Classic. The RS Classic is built to the specifications below, and even allows for a different finish/pickguard selection for those who want to express a little individuality.

RS Classic standard features include; custom extended neck join(to inner body), mahogany neck/ebony fingerboard, authentic style neck profile and dimensions, mahogany sound chambered body with oak insert for mounting tremolo and bridge, authentic style knife-edge tremolo w/straight roller bridge, full body binding, nut zero fret with string guide, Sperzel locking tuners, 4 degree headstock angle/2 degree neck pitch, 24 inch scale length, 1.85 inch nut width, body depth of 1.54 inch, authentically placed MOP fretboard inlays, master Vol, master Tone, on/off/phase switches for each pickup (white switches), 220K pots, 3 custom wound, authentic spec Adeson replica pickups, custom pickguard, authentic Red Special style finish, custom aluminum replica knobs, custom hardshell case, 1 year warranty. Specifications subject to change without notice, as we are constantly improving and updating our guitars design.

What string gauge are the guitars setup with?

We set our guitars up with .09 to .42 gauge strings. If you have any special setup requirements, or would prefer a different string gauge, please let us know in the notes area of the order form.

Why can't I just talk to you on the phone?

Since we get thousands of visitors on our website, it is currently impossible for us to answer product questions by phone and build the guitars. We promise you that you will get the best answer to your question via email. We have found that you can receive much more detailed advice by email than by phone.

Does RS Guitars require a deposit to begin construction?

RS Guitars will charge 50% of the guitar cost (less shipping, nonrefundable) to cover materials and parts. When your guitar is getting close to completion, you will be contacted with shipping options and the balance due so you can arrange payment.

Where do I mail my check?

Is my deposit for construction refundable?

These guitars are custom built and are not production stocked items, that is why we require a deposit to begin construction. We apologize if the is policy seems rigid, but such is the nature of the custom guitar business and this policy is non-negotiable...please make sure you are prepared to buy before you place your order.

What is the price of the RS Classic?
